New Patient Campaign

image1As we come to the end of summer, we are launching many new changes at the practice. Dr Jennifer and her team are extremely excited to announce the relocation of the practice to 1408 South Main Street in Kannapolis, in the old Fifth Third Bank location. The building will be completely remodeled to house our dental practice and best fit our patients. Stay tuned for weekly updates of the process on all our social channels using #movedrwellsteam. Dr. Jennifer closed on the new location this past Friday and construction for the full remodel will take place starting Tuesday! How exciting!!!!
We are projected to be at the new location by the start of 2017.

Welcoming New Patients

At First Impressions Family Dentistry our patients become family. Within the office we consider ourselves a work family too. We look forward to interacting with the town of Kannapolis and meeting more local businesses. Dr Jennifer and her team have been serving the town of Kannapolis for over 3 years after she took over the practice from Dr Hunter.

We are currently accepting new patients to our practice. We accept all insurance plans and we are in-network with Delta Dental Premier. We do not accept Medicare and Medicaid.

We had the chance this past week to welcome, a new patient, the owner of El Amigo Restaurant in Kannapolis. You can find more info on his restaurant at http://www.elamigomexicanrestaurant.com. We dine here often. Viviana, one of our Dental Assistants, even works there on the weekends!
Some of our favorites include the cheese dip and the steak burritos, which are an office hit.

Do you want to follow us on our adventures in Kannapolis and Concord? If you spot us, Tweet us using the #spotteddrwellsteam. We love our patients, but we also love new patients joining our dental family.

How do I become a new patient?

1. Call our office at 704-933-2115
2. If you are experiencing a dental emergency, we will bring you in to focus on that tooth with the issues. You will receive a limited exam with Dr Jennifer and an x-ray if necessary.
3. If you are coming in as a new patient, you will have a full exam with Dr Jennifer, a full set of x-rays as well as a scan for oral cancer.
4. After you have completed your new patient exam, we will create a treatment plan specific for your.

What is a treatment plan?

1. During the new patient appointment, Dr Jennifer and you will have determined a treatment plan for your teeth. Determining what work if any needs to be preformed, including what order that needs to take place.
2. If the only treatment needed is a cleaning, a hygienist appointment with Kim will be scheduled at checkout.
3. If you will be receiving fillings, crowns, etc., you will receive a treatment print out that will let you know the cost of each treatment, along with what your insurance company covers at the time of checkout.

Payment Plans

We will NEVER leave you in the dark! You will always know the cost of the treatment so you can plan accordingly.

Your teeth are extremely important to you and our team. Don’t let them go untreated. Ask our financial coordinator Deneen about payment plans. We look forward to the chance to keep your mouth in its best shape.

Are you ready for summer travel?

beach 2beach

We wait all year for summer to come; everyone wants to be sitting on the beach with palm trees blowing and the smell of the salty ocean in the air. Getting ready for travel can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. Follow our simple steps to get and keep you ready for summer travel and flying:

  1. Knowing the 3-1-1 Liquids Rule can save you time and stress at the airport.

Liquids, gels and aerosols packed in carry-ons must follow the 3-1-1 liquids rule:

3.4 ounces or less per container

1 quart size, clear, plastic, zip top bag (all liquids must fit in bag)

1 bag-per-passenger

During your visit to our office with Kim for your 6-month cleaning, you will always receive a care bag with sample-sized products. These are the best to save for travel.  Consider this your dental travel kit. Some Electrical toothbrush kits offer USB travel size cases. If you’re like us and can’t be without that electrical toothbrush, these charge cases are wonderful to travel with.

  1. Have all dental medications on hand in the correct prescription container(s). Make sure to call ahead to the TSA Cares toll free helpline at (855) 787-2227 with any questions on flight travel regulations.
  1. Receiving dental care on travel can be scary! Every Dentist in the United States are required to receive accredited schoolings and pass national and state examinations before they can practice. Not all countries follow our procedures. Try asking the hotel concierge for a recommendation for a quality dentist or call the US Embassy for a referral. Make sure to carry all insurance information and Dr. Jennifer Wells’ information with you on your travel.  Now is a good time to sign a vacation medical release form.

Can I wait until I get home or should I find a dentist ASAP?

Chipped/Broken tooth– A chipped or broken tooth can likely wait until you return home.  If you have pain or discomfort  you may want to seek treatment.  If the tooth is rough or sharp to your tongue you can pick up a temporary filling material or some wax at the grocery store and place it on the rough spot to tide you over.

Tooth Sensitive or Tooth Ache– If the tooth is sensitive to cold the tooth is likely okay to wait until you return.  If the tooth is sensitive to hot, the tooth might need treatment asap.  You can try and take an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory such as Ibuprofen or Aleve, if this reduces your pain, then you can wait until you return.  If the pain continues, seek treatment immediately.

Temporary Crown Came off– you can replace the crown with toothpaste as a temporary fix or over the counter dental cement.

These are only tips. Use common sense to avoid eating foods that cause additional pain. Please seek emergency help from licensed Dental Offices when traveling overseas. If located in the United States please seek 911 if you experience a dental emergency.

If dental problems arise while you are on your travels, make sure to contact Dr. Jennifer’s office as soon as you can to set up an appointment with us.
